April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog.  So glad you stopped by.  If you have come from Judy Faye's blog, you are on the right track.  I hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful artwork you have seen so far.
This fantastic set celebrates fun in the sun, so I used the Surf's Up paper pack to make the two cards you see below.

Supplies for the card on the left:
White Daisy, Crystal Blue, Juniper and Black Cardstock, Crystal Blue and Juniper Ink, Blue Sparkles and Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.  The sentiment in the circle reads: You are the sunshine to light my day

Supplies for the card on the right:
White Daisy and Sorbet Card Stock, Sorbet and Creme Brulee Ink, Creme Brulee Bakers Twine and Square Studs.  And all this patterned paper comes in the Surf's Up paper pack.  What a great range of colors.  You should check it out!

Now hop on over to Jean's Blog to see what she has made to you!  I hope you have a wonderful April, and don't forget to purchase this stamp of the month before time runs out!!

Floral Happiness is Almost Gone

Don't miss out on this great Stamp of the Month.  Tomorrow is the last day to order this March set.  The roses in this set are just gorgeous.  Here I have used Buttercup and Blush for the rose.  I added a little Stardust Glitter Glitz.  I have found the easiest way for me to use the Glitz is to apply it with a little paint brush.  I just put a bit on a plastic lid and painted it on with the brush.  I can put it on as thin or thick as I like.

Do you notice the little border around the card?  I used our great ruler (Z1471) to line up the holes.  Then poke away with a piercing tool.

Supplies:
Floral Happiness (S1303)
Chantilly Paper pack, Buttercup and White Daisy Card Stock
Black, Buttercup and Blush Inks
Flutter Paper Shapes, Tiny Black Opaques and  Stardust Glitter Glitz

Wishing you all a Blessed Easter.

Gone to the Birds

Birds and birdcages are still in this season.  I think this set is especially great because of the little chain, beautiful flourish with the butterflies (I'm so partial to butterflies) and the sentiment.
"May flowers always line your path
and songbirds serenade you
every step of the way"

Isn't that nice?

Supplies:
White Daisy, Outdoor Denim and Champagne cardstock
Outdoor Denim and Champagne Ink
Hello Tweety (B1420)

My Friend

This great sentiment is from the My Friend stamp set (D1510)  And have you used the Frames yet?  This set is called Frame Flair (D1546) and is a new set found in the Spring/Summer Idea book on page 19.  The lines are so delicate in this set.  I stamped the sentiment in Black and the Frame in Crystal Blue.

The butterfly is cut with the AP cartridge and stamped with Universal Backgrounds (D1477).  I think that gives it a bit of texture.  I also took the edge of my scissors and distressed the edge of the Crystal Blue card stock.  A piece from the Chantilly Paper Pack (X7163) gives it a little more color.  A simple little card to keep in touch with someone you love.

Thanks for stopping by,
Kim

A Bunny for Easter

The other day, I ran across a blog by a fellow consultant that had this cute little fellow on it.  This bunny is made totally by using the Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Isn't he cute?
I wanted to try this out, and I found it  really easy to do.  There are so many things we can make with this cartridge.  If you are interested in purchasing the AP or the Artiste cartridge, please contact me or go to my website:  www.kimschnoor.ctmh.com to order.  You can get this half price by having a gathering.  Ask me how!

I'd like to thank Tracey over at www.gr8scraps.blogspot.com for the wonderful idea.

So Simple

Digging way back in my pictures, I found a family photo of us from back in 1998.  I thought the Claire paper would work just fine for this one.  There is a piece that looks like denim, and because we live in jeans, I thought that would be appropriate.

I used a layout found in Imagine on page 26 called Perfect Prelude.  I used the denim and the ever popular chevron piece for this.  There is also a piece of dotted paper from the pack that mats the photo.

You see chevrons everywhere now.  I just love them.  Those and the little flags.  Outstanding!

Supplies:
Claire Paper Pack   X7166B
Wooden Buttons and Hemp Bakers Twine (part of the Mini Medley Wooden Collection  Z1837)
Kraft Borders  (retired)

Orange is In, You Know?

This year, like last, the "In" color was a coral or orange.  At least that was what I was told while I was shopping for clothes.  And by the way, I really don't like to shop for clothes.  It is such a struggle.  Just give me a pair of jeans and a sweat shirt.  Suits me just fine.  But I digress......I am loving Sunset in these two paper packs.   On the left is Claire, paired with Cashmere and Outdoor Denim.  I love that combo of colors.

And the card on the right is Buzz and Bumble.  Don't you think the honeycomb paper goes well with the bee from Pun Fun (C1505)?  I also used Hemp Baker's Twine found in the Mini Medley Accents Wooden Collection (Z1837).  It has a whole different feel.

Thanks for looking!

A Couple of Birthday Cards

It seems that I am always needing birthday cards.  I love to send cards, and I hope those on the receiving end enjoy them too.  We made these at card class the other night.

Have you ever dyed our Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon?  The card on the left is using that ribbon.  It comes in a off white color and can be turned into any one of our beautiful colors with just a sponge and ink pad.  Lay the ribbon directly on the pad, pounce the sponge over it to get the desired color.  Usually, I don't cover the whole piece, just sections.  The ink will disperse to make an even color.  Pretty cool!

The card on the right was made using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  Just cut out the cupcake and liner with the Cricut.  I stamped Buttercup ink on the coordinating stamp to give the cupcake a frosting effect.

Hope you are enjoying your day!

4th of July

Do you recognize this layout?  It is the right side of layout #14 on page 32 of Make It From Your Heart (9035).  What great 4th of July colors!  I used the stamp set from the Tommy WOTG for the tag.  Those are Cranberry Brads making the semi circles.  And Dimensional Elements Stars sponged with Outdoor Denim.

Peace and Comfort

I guess I am at the age that a lot of my friends parents are passing away.  We all seem to go through those times in our lives.  When our kid's friends are all getting married; there are wedding cards to make, or when we were younger and our own friends were having babies.  Baby cards to make.  Right now, I seem to be needing a lot of sympathy cards.  Here is one that I have made to send for three of my friend's fathers who have passed away in the last week.

I hope it brings some peace and comfort to them.

Looking forward to a brighter day ahead.

The Lake

A little more Tommy for a few lake pictures.  This paper is working perfectly for anything nautical, but can be used for any pictures.  The bold colors of Outdoor Denim, Cranberry and Honey will add to any layout.

Going Old School

Here are the club projects for the month of February.
The above card could be made either by stamping the shapes directly on the card or stamping on other paper and cutting them out.  Remember, I love to cut, but some people would rather not.  :)

I got out the Blending Pen for the card on the right.  It works perfectly for shading the flowers and bee.  I used Creme Brulee and Sunset Inks.  Just touch the tip of the pen on the lid of the ink pad and color away.  And I also found the Craft Heater and Embossing Powder for the card on the right.  Stamp the image first in Cocoa, then again in Versamark Ink.  Sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and heat.  Then sponge with Sunset Ink.  The clear embossed area will resist the ink.  These are items that I sometimes forget about using.  So easy to do, but add so much to a project.
