January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Happy New Year!!
Welcome to my blog!  You are on the trail of the January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  If you have come from Maureen's blog, you are going to right way.  If you get lost along the way, here is a list of all the hoppers to get you back on track.
This month, we are showcasing Cross-Stitch Wishes (S1401).  A set of 13 stamps of hearts, sentiments and more.

I made two cards for this hop using several of the stamps found in the set.  Colors used are: Ruby, Lagoon and Honey.  I also used Baker's Twine for a little accent.  Easy Peasy!

Here is a look at the stamp set.  Can't you just imagine all of the things you can create with this set?  Now hop on over to Michelle's blog to see what she has created.  I'm wishing you a wonderful year ahead with a lot of crafting and great times with family and friends.

Frosted & the Christmas Village

I dug out the little Cuddlebug for the background on this card.  I have a snowflake folder, so I ran a piece of Colonial White CS through and then sponged on a bit of Desert Sand Ink.  This is the Frosted Paper Pack and I used the Frosted Grey Card Stock that only comes with this pack.  The "sweet shoppe" from Christmas Village (D1554) is colored with our Watercolor Pencils.  The building and sentiment are stamped with Desert Sand and a couple of Tan Sparkles are there too.

Supplies:

Perfect Fit-Thanksgiving

I am trying to use colors that I don't normally use.  Because I am color challenged, I would not put a warm color like Barn Red with a cool color like Slate.  I know, I know...... but remember I stay with the "safe" stuff.  Or usually do.  Close To My Heart has broadened my view on things.  I get excited when I work with these colors.  Who knew!

Supplies:
Perfect Fit-Thanksgiving (B1427), Geometric Backgrounds (D1559), Whisper and Barn Red Ink, Barn Red, Slate, Black and Colonial White Card Stock, B&T (retired) and Bronze Shimmer Trim.  The turkey was cut out using the Cricut Artiste.

Snow Much Fun

This little stamp set is so cute.  There are 3 adorable snowmen, who will really make you smile.  I used the Frosted Paper Pack here.  This paper is one of my favorites.  It was almost hard for me to use, because it is soooo pretty.  The colors remind me of a cloudy, snowy day....or the beach in winter.  I have never been to the beach in the winter, but this is what I imagine it looking like.  Anyway, this is great paper, love it!

Supplies:
Frosted Paper Pack, Flakey Friends (C1506), Slate Ink, Clear Sparkle
and a snowflake punch (non CTMH)

A Trio of Cards

This poinsettia was made using the Cricut AP cartridge.  As with the other one, I reduced the size and layered.  The Happy Holidays sentiment is from Merry & Bright (C1510).  The bling in the middle is a retired clear flower.
Merry & Bright here, with the ribbon and bird paper pieced.  I think it adds a bit extra, don't you think?
And finally, Santa Claus (C1567) with the presents, sleigh and Santa paper pieced.  The sentiment is popped up, to give even more dimension.  I hope this has given you a little bit of inspiration for your cards this year.

Spirit of Christmas

Here is a card made using the Merry & Bright Stampset and the Sparkle and Shine Paper Pack. The designs for several of the cards I have been posting have come from Make It From Your Heart, Vol.1.
The poinsettia was made using the Cricut Artiste, and gradually reducing the size of each layer.  There are 4 layers of the flower.  I used the Licorice Opaques for the center of the flower.

A Side Step Card

More Santas and Sparkle and Shine today.  Like the Center Step Card, this looks more difficult than it really is.  This is called a Side Step Card and can be Googled on the internet to find lots of ideas.  It uses a piece of cardstock that measures 8.5 x 5.5, so if fits nicely in a regular card envie.

Supplies:
Sparkle and Shine Paper Pack, Santa Claus (C1567), Ruby, Slate and Juniper Ink, Sparkles and the Cricut.

Hope you are thinking about Christmas or Holiday cards this year.  Let me know if you are interested in purchasing from the new Holidays from the Heart Gift Guide.

Thanks,
Kim

November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the November SOTM Blog Hop and my blog.  If you are coming from Pam's Blog you are coming from the right place.  And if you get lost along the way, here is the list of all of the hoppers participating in November's hop.

I made a card using the 8x3.5 size and it works perfectly with the lamp post in the stamp set.  The pattern is from Wishes and is called Simply Said.  I used the Hounds-tooth paper from Sparkle and Shine, as well as Ruby and Slate Card Stock.  Black Ink and Sparkles finish it off.  Did you notice the light in the street lamp? That's Honey Ink giving it a bit of shine.  The lamp is popped up.
This is a set of 15 stamps and you can get your very own for just $5 when you spend $50 on products.  Now hop on over to Carla's Blog to see her wonderful artwork.  Enjoy!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

I just love this Santa stamp set!  It reminds me of the old fashioned ones I used to see as a kid.  Here I stamped him on White Daisy Card Stock with Slate Ink.  I restamped his hat on Ruby Card Stock with Ruby Ink.  The sentiment is in Slate.  The ornament side of the Sparkle & Shine Paper has a little sheen to it, you should see how pretty it is.  The zip strip from the paper has a sleigh, bells and reindeer.  I used the pattern from Make It From Your Heart Vol 1 for this card.  Check out the Gift Guide to see the rest of the images from this set or stay tuned for the next card I post because I will have a couple more.

House Guests

I've been having a few house guests at my house lately.  We have been having so much fun playing with toys, building, reading and all the things that go with little ones.  I am so lucky to have them only 2 hours away.  The kids are changing so fast, I love being able to see that first hand.

Oh, Chistmas Tree

I have seen this done so many times and have never tried it till now.  I think it's cute and oh, so simple.  CTMH has a new pack of Washi Tape available in the Holiday Gift Guide.  With those designs and the one in the Fall/Winter Catalog, I made this little tree.  The stamp "Merry & Bright" comes from the Merry & Bright set (C1510) and is stamped in Ruby.  The star is Glitter Paper and stem is Slate Card Stock with the background of Whisper.  I used a fine black marker to draw the line around the tree.

Harvest Going Full Blast and a Card

The leaves are changing colors, there is a chill is the air.  For those who know me, I am now on the phone all of the time, and in the midst of the corn and bean harvest in the Midwest.  The tires are rolling, the lines and hours are long, but the crops are coming out and the scrap room is quiet.  I did get a chance to make a few cards for Club the other day, so I will share them with you over the next few days. My house is decorated for Fall and Halloween, but we made Christmas cards.   Quite the combination.
With the new Holidays from the Heart Gift Guide out now, I used the papers from that for my inspiration.  This is a center step card and if you google that, you can find a wealth of information and ideas.  It might look a little complicated, but it is not at all.  Try one, you'll make lots more.

Supplies: Sparkle & Shine Paper Pack, October Stamp of the Month Scandinavian Wishes, Juniper and Ruby Inks, Base & Bling Floral Accents, Grey Baker's Twine and Clear Sparkles

I hope you are enjoying your Fall.  Take the time to see those beautiful colors and take in all the sights and sounds of Autumn.

October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog.  For the month of October we are featuring
Scandinavian Wishes (S1310).  If you are coming from Jill's Blog, you are on the right track.   If you get lost along the way, go to Kathleen's blog to get the complete list of hoppers.
I made this card in the traditional colors of Christmas, but I am sure the images could be inked in other beautiful colors too.  This card pattern is from the New Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2 book.  There are 4 images on this set that are compatible with the Cricut Art Philosophy, so crafting cards or projects is a breeze.
Here are 4 Christmas Gift Tags that I made using the set and the Cricut.  Set your dial to 2.5 for both the Tag and Decorative Layer.  The stamp fits inside perfectly.

Supplies:
Kraft, New England Ivy and Ruby Card Stock, New England Ivy and Ruby Inks, Cricut Art Philosophy, Baker's Twine and Pop Dots.
This is a set of 12 stamps and you can only get one during the month of October.  Don't miss out on this great holiday set.  Now hop on over to Adeline's Blog to see what beautiful work she has created.

My Version of Page 36

I have to say that I fell in LOVE with the album on page 36 of the Fall/Winter Idea Book.  So I set out to blatantly copy it for myself.  Or in this case I actually am giving it away.
Mine is not quit an exact duplicate, but it's close.  This is the front cover of the Pocket Album.  There is room on the front for a little picture too.  Just like the Idea Book.
This is the inside cover of the album.  I made the pages pretty simple so that all of the personal items like pictures and notes could go on the pages.  The saying here is from the You Are My Happy Stamp Set and says:  Today you are you, that is truer than true.  There is no one alive who is Youer than you.  Dr. Suess  I am just a sucker for Dr Suess.  That man knew his stuff.
Here are the back two pages of the book.  The saying here is:  "It's about to get wild around here" and that is so true.  I really love how it came out.  I'm tempted to keep it......but I won't.  There is a better home for it out there.

Supplies:
Babycakes Paper Pack, Babycakes Assortment, Babycakes Complements Canvas Shapes, Wild Wonders (C1558), Frame Flair (D1546), You Are My Happy (National Stamping Month Special), My Creations Kraft Pocket Album, Cocoa, Slate, Creme Brulee, Whisper, and Sunset Inks, and Baker's Twine.

Some Thank Yous

I have been making a few cards to share with Katie because she has been so busy.  Do you remember this paper?  This is Elemental from a few catalogs ago and the colors are Pacifica and Desert Sand.  I used that cute little Wild Wonders stamp set (C1558) from our current catalog for the lion.  I think she will like these.  I made 10, so hopefully that will hold her till I can make more.

Supplies:
Wild Wonders, Elemental Paper Pack, Pacifica and Desert Sand Cardstock and Ink, Cricut Art Philosophy, Milepost Shapes (retired)

Art Philosophy Cards

A couple of very simple "Cricut" cards for you today.  This card pattern is on the Art Philosophy (AP for short) cartridge.  The shape is cut from the center of the card front so you can see into the inside.  I used that cutout piece to stamp the sentiment from You Are My Happy.  The images are from that set as well.  I used Lagoon, Cotton Candy and Gypsy cardstock along with papers from the Sarita Paper Pack.  The hearts are colored with our Cotton Candy Markers. There are Clear Sparkles and some retired ric rac.  Easy Peasy!

Thanks for looking.

Outside My Kitchen Window

I have a little flower garden in the front of my house.  I lost a beautiful old maple tree a few years ago, and under that tree were the most wonderful shade loving flowers.  When the tree died, I had to transplant the shade lovers and start over with sun loving plants.  We did plant a new tree, not a maple, but a flowering one and there is no shade at all.   Now the area is in the bright sun for most of the day.  So I planted a few perennials and a lot of annuals.  Next year there will be more perennials, but for now I'm enjoying the last bits of summer outside my kitchen window.

A Little Sunshine

You Are My Happy is such a great stamp set.  So cheerful and uplifting.  The sayings, images and alphabet are just right for any occasion.  Here are two cards made using Baby Cakes (and you thought it was just for baby stuff). We made these cards at club too.

Baby Cakes Paper Pack, You Are My Happy Stamp Set (National Stamping Month Special), Slate Polka Dot Washi Tape, Sparkles Clear Flourishes and the Cricut.

Baby Cakes

What do you think of this paper?  Isn't it great?  The colors in this paper are Buttercup, Chocolate, Colonial White, Slate and Sunset.  I made this little card for club night coming up.  I hope they like it.  The stamp set is Wild Wonders (C1558) and can be found on page 39 of the Idea Book.  The lion's face and mane are stamped in Sunset and cut out.  The arrow comes from the Cricut Artiste Collection.  I added a bit of bling, and that's my card.

I Quit

These are the last three cards I can make from the pieces left over from the Laughing Lola Card Making Kit.  There are a few Pear Cardstock pieces left, but I am giving up.  I made quite a few things with that pack.  It is really a great value.  I used A True Thank You (M1029)  and the National Stamping Month Special You Are My Happy (CC1025A,B & C) for these cards.  Also, various markers for the flower.  I think I will put the leftovers in my Pear scrap bag and call it good.

Have a great day!

September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome hoppers!   If you have come from Wendy's Blog, you are in the right spot.  This month I have made two cards using just one of the stamps.  I stamped half of it on one card, and half on the other.  It was really easy to do.
For the card on the left, I used my scissors to distress the edges of the cardstock.  Can you tell?  I also used Fall Harvest (C1504) as background on both cards.  On the left, in Champagne and on the right in Olive. The word "FALL" is popped up on the right card.
Supplies:
Champagne, Cocoa, Colonial White and Olive Card Stock, Olive and Chocolate Inks, Wooden Mini Medley Set, Burlap Ribbon, Natural Hemp
Poster Tidings (S1309) is available only in September.  Get yours for only $5.00 with a qualifying purchase of $50.  Ask me how!

Sarita....You DO Make Me Smile

We are having a late summer heat wave in my neck of the woods.  I can't complain, it hasn't been as hot as usual here.  But wouldn't you know, school has started and it is Hot! Hot! Hot!
I have stayed in the house a bit more because of that, so I got my own Sarita Paper Pack out and made this little card.  This paper is just a fiesta in a bag.  So much fun.  Here I used Burlap Ribbon, Blue Epoxy Bubbles, Outdoor Denim and Gypsy Inks and one of the stamp sets from the Artiste Cricut Package.

I hope you are staying cool where you are.  And I highly recommend getting your fiesta started.  It will put a smile on your face.

Sarita Cards

When I was out at Katie's the other day, I made some cards with her Sarita Paper Pack.  Wasn't that nice of her to let me play with her stuff?  But, she made me leave them at her house, so I don't get to have them for my own.  Oh well, guess I will have to make some more.  I did get my own pack and can't wait to start creating.  The colors are so vibrant and make me happy just looking at them.  Festive comes to mind.

Thanks for looking and I hope they make you happy too.

Last Two....for now

Here are the last two I will post for a while.  When I get more done with those pieces I showed you in the first post, I will get them on here.  I just love the stamp set that comes with Laughing Lola.  The sayings are coming in so handy right now.  I have a few friends who need a bit of cheering up.  These will be so appropriate.

August is getting away from us.  Don't let summer go by without soaking in that sun.

On a Lola Roll

Are you sick of Lola yet?  I don't think I am.  I am not normally a purple person, but I love these colors together.  I can say that working with all of these beautiful colors has changed my perspective on color.  I think a person can be afraid of color, but not with these bold choices.  You have to see them in person!

I did get a little sidetracked from my plan.....I wanted to use the new cute little Happy Birthday (M1033) stamp set on the card on the left.  Gypsy Ink was used with the Water Brush for the color in the "birthday"  I also added Black Shimmer Trim too.  But both cards are made with pieces from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking Kit.

Have a great week!

Sketch 114

I haven't done a challenge for a long time, so I thought I would try the Deconstructed Sketch 114 with some of the leftover pieces of the Laughing Lola Card Making Kit.  Here is the sketch:
The card is made with :
Outdoor Denim, Slate, and Pear Cardstock, Laughing Lola patterned paper, the workshop stamp set, Gypsy Ink, Whisper, Black & Silver Baker's Twine, and Purple Gems.
Thanks Jen for always posting sketches.  They inspire me and give me a place to start.  Check out her blog HERE  to see more artwork.

My Lola Challenge

Ok, I know this has been done before, but I thought I would try it myself.  I made the 15 cards from the Laughing Lola Cardmaking Kit and then wanted to use up the rest of the paper and embellishments to see how much I could make.  So...at this point, I have this much left.  I know I can make at least a couple of things with this, but I thought I would show you what I have done so far.
The two cards below were made with leftover supplies from the Laughing Lola Card Kit.  I have made 7 standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards so far.  I did add White Daisy Card Stock for card bases.

The kit comes with Outdoor Denim, Slate and Pear Card Stock, so that's what the colors are here.  These card patterns come from the New Make It From Your Heart Cardmaking Book. What do you think so far?  Check back for the rest of the cards in the next two posts.  Thanks for looking.
